Heritage Project Terms of Reference

Heritage Conservation Project

TERMS OF RETERENCE

27 January 2022

  1.  Background

The Heritage conservation assessment project was originally started in March/April 2019 but progress was limited by the Covid-19 pandemic.  By early 2022 a lot of background work had been done and steps were taken to update progress to date with stakeholders and discuss future direction.  For clarity it was felt that it would be helpful to restate the project terms of reference.

2.  Scope

The assessment will include all heritage across the whole Pyrford Neighbourhood Area.  It will include built assets and conservation areas therein.

3.  Organisation

3.1  The project will be undertaken by Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum (PNF). PNF will lead the project with technical consultancy assistance from LDA Design Ltd.

3.2  Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum (PNF) will lead a community project to assess and review heritage assets in the whole Pyrford Forum Area.

3.3.  The project will involve LDA Design Consulting, and additional specialist consultant input as required, for professional advice and guidance on methods and procedures and under whose direction Forum members will undertake to catalogue, review and assess heritage assets in the area.

3.4.  Broadly speaking the Forum would involve and consult the community in the work undertaken and feed back conclusions through a local consultation exercise in a manner very similar to that used to design and adopt the Pyrford Neighbourhood Plan.

3.5.  The Woking Borough Council (WBC) Planning Policy Group would be involved at all stages for advice, guidance and feedback on progress to ensure that all works are completed to the required standard for progress to the WBC Adoption Phase.

4.  Method

The methodology to be followed on the project is that recommended by LDA Design Ltd and is detailed in the accompanying Task Schedule.

5.  Funding

Funding for the project will be raised by Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum from fund raising events and donations.
