As there was no existing planning permission for the constructed pillars and gate, these structures have been referred to the Woking Borough Council Enforcement Team for consideration.

COMMENTS MADE BY FORUM – An objection was made to a Planning Application at Twisted Stone Golf Club, Pyrford Road requesting the removal of condition 15, applied to the 1995 Planning Application Appeal, which restricted existing use of the clubhouse building to “purposes ancillary to and only used in association with golf course use”.
APPLICATIONS WITHDRAWN – The two outstanding applications at Old House Pyrford Road were withdrawn.
APPLICATIONS DECISIONS – No significant applications have been decided since the June report.
Planning Update – June 2021
COMMENTS MADE BY FORUM – A neutral comment has been made on 154 Old Woking Road expressing concern that the side extension abuts a neighbour’s boundary. There are three possible options when making a comment on an application – Object, Support or Neutral.
The Committee agreed at its last meeting to make an objection to a Planning Application at Twisted Stone Golf Club, Pyrford Road requesting the removal of condition 15, applied to the 1995 Planning Application Appeal, which restricted existing use of the clubhouse building to “purposes ancillary to and only used in association with golf course use”.
APPEALS LODGED BY APPLICANTS – Two appeals against decisions have been lodged against:-
- Enforcement action at Twisted Stone Golf Club, Pyrford Road following refusal for a temporary storage compound in Green Belt
APPLICATIONS DECISIONS – One significant application has been decided since the May report – 26 Boltons Lane for “a rear extension and two storey front and side extension to form annex” was REFUSED.
Planning Update 04/02/2021
Since the last newsletter, the key planning applications are:-
New Units Marshall Parade Coldharbour Road – Removal/variation of condition 9 to allow a change in planning use to allow for possible occupation by a dentist.
Lock Lane – A new bungalow on a field was refused.
Boat House, Pyrford Place – Demolition of existing boathouse & erection of a two-storey boathouse. A previous application was refused.
Qaro Pyrford Heath – Prior Approval to add an additional storey above the existing bungalow. This was recommended for approval at the January 2021 Planning Committee, but a decision was made to defer the application for further review.(50%
Planning Note:
“Prior Approval” is a new type of planning regulation that is a permitted development right. There are conditions that need to be met, but in principle, for detached houses, up to two additional storeys can be erected on the topmost storey of the house, or one additional storey on a detached house of one storey. Under the regulations only adjacent neighbours are normally entitled to comment.
