Planning Update – April 2021
Since the last report:-
The Forum commented on one significant planning application from Pyrford Place Farm Estate Pyrford Road for “Proposed resurfacing of yard area and erection of replacement washing bay structure following demolition of the existing.” The objection was made as the site is in the Green Belt and current planning use is only for purposes ancillary to the Pyrford Golf Club
One significant decision made since the March update was to refuse the proposed “detached oak framed boat house” at The Old House Pyrford Road
New application of interest in Green Belt is at Pyrford Golf Club Warren Lane for “proposed floating composite structure and bridge on existing lake to provide pontoon style seating”.
Planning Update – March 2021
Since the last report, the Forum commented on the following significant PYRFORD planning applications:-
- Boathouse Pyrford Place – impact & over development of site
- Little Copse Pyrford Road – over development of site
One significant application has been decided since the February update:-.
Qaro Pyrford Heath – Prior notification for enlargement of a dwelling house by construction of an additional storey, with proposed ridge height of 8.2m (amended description to include height). – Deferred on January 21 but subsequently APPROVED
The following key applications are still under consideration:-
In Green Belt:-
Twisted Stone Golf Club Pyrford Road – Temporary consent is sought for a period of 12 months for use of part of existing car park as a greenkeepers maintenance compound and siting of storage containers (retrospective). The recommendation to the Planning Committee 16th March to refuse and start enforcement action was agreed
Wisley Golf Club Wisley Lane – Engineering operations to The Garden Course to include replacement drainage and irrigation system, relocation of 5th and 8th tee boxes and re-profiling of section of the bank at the River Wey along with works to the bunkers to improve drainage and playability.

- Demolition of existing stables/storage building and replacement with detached oak framed garage/storage Barn.
- Single storey oak framed home gym extension.

Planning Update – February 2021
Since the last newsletter, the key planning applications are:-
New Units Marshall Parade Coldharbour Road – Removal/variation of condition 9 to allow a change in planning use to allow for possible occupation by a dentist.
Lock Lane – A new bungalow on a field was refused.
Boat House, Pyrford Place – Demolition of existing boathouse & erection of a two-storey boathouse. A previous application was refused.
Qaro Pyrford Heath – Prior Approval to add an additional storey above the existing bungalow. This was recommended for approval at the January 2021 Planning Committee, but a decision was made to defer the application for further review.
“Prior Approval” is a new type of planning regulation that is a permitted development right. There are conditions that need to be met, but in principle, for detached houses, up to two additional storeys can be erected on the topmost storey of the house, or one additional storey on a detached house of one storey. Under the regulations only adjacent neighbours are normally entitled to comment.
