Forum AGM

24th November 2015 by pnf Leave a Comment

Events > 2015 > December > Forum AGM

About this event:

Created by pnf

Took place on 7th December 2015 from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Pyrford Village Hall GU22 8SP

Well Firstly lets start by saying it’s been a really eventful year in which a lot has happened.  So I urge you all to attend the AGM for a thorough update on where we are and what comes next.  We’ll start the evening with a short half hour reception.  –  Drinks and snacks to relax and allow us to say thank you for all your support over the last 12 months.  A rough agenda for what follows will include:

  • Report on 2015 activities
  • Local Development Plan progress
  • WBC development site allocation and GBR proposals.
  • Financial report 2015
  • Election/re-election of Forum officers
  • The Plan – Way Forward
  • Discussion of the purpose and shape of the Forum once the Plan is adopted

So please come along and join us for an important ‘catch-up’ event.

As a sampler of what will be covered we’ll present the obstacles overcome as we finalised the Plan after our Local Consultation,  If you remember you returned a 98.2% approval rating for the proposed policies. Nonetheless we have analysed your comments, listened to your views and made appropriate changes to the draft.  We are now not far from submitting the plan for the next stage so come and hear what that entails as best we currently understand things.

Whilst all that was going on, WBC’s public consultation on their proposals for where they intended to build additional housing was proceeding in parallel.  We understand they received an avalanche of objections  and very recently were still recording and analysing.  Definite information is sparse but we do know the report by LDA, our consultants, hit the right spots and has helped force them to reconsider aspects of their plans.  For this, of course, we must thank our sponsor at Pyrford Court who generously helped by finding the best consultants and paying their fees.  What comes next is not clear but, having talked to the council several times we have some idea and we’ll share our best estimates of the time scales they are working to, on the 7 December.

Recently we’ve started to give some thought to what happens to the Forum after the Plan is ‘made’ and there are a number of options for the future.  We clearly have a load of work to do, on this subject, as soon as the Plan is submitted for final approval.  Come and hear about the way we are thinking on this and advise us on what the realistic options might be.

Finally we have a new web site which although it doesn’t have any new information yet we are all very excited about.  So let us know what you think of this and the other issues by replying through info@pyrfordforum.org

We all look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on 7 December as the Forum is truly at an important crossroads.

Regards

PNF Committee.
