The Forum was delighted to welcome the Mayor of Woking, Cllr Amanda Boote, and Will Forster, MP, to our stand at the Pyrford Village Show on Saturday 12 July. This was one of three events over the summer where we collected residents’ initial thoughts on updates to the Pyrford Neighbourhood Plan. A summary of the responses we received over all three events is on the Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum 2027 – 2042 page. Please take a look and add your thoughts.

Around fifty residents attended the Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum AGM on Monday 23 June. We said farewell to Cliff Bolton, who has left the Forum committee after fourteen years’ memorable service.

Woking Borough Council’s Planning and Policy Manager, Jill Peet, spoke about the new Woking Local Plan. The initial consultation on this starts in September. On similar lines, progress on the updating of the Pyrford Neighbourhood Plan was outlined and residents gave their views on priorities for the new Plan.

Please join us for the Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum AGM on Monday 23 June at 7.30pm at Pyrford Village Hall.

There is a lot happening in local democracy at the moment – plans for a unitary authority are being discussed, Woking Borough Council is about to launch a consultation on its new Local Plan, Pyrford Forum has requested a Community Governance Review with the aim of creating a Pyrford Parish Council, and we are starting to develop the new Pyrford Neighbourhood Plan. Now, more than ever, we need to know your views and to understand your thoughts.

Please come to the AGM, where you will learn more about these initiatives and have an opportunity to discuss your priorities for the future of Pyrford.

See here for the full agenda.

Seventy local residents enjoyed the 2025 Walk on the Wildside

24th May 2025 by Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum Leave a Comment

Pyrford Forum’s 2025 Walk on the Wild Side event at The Old House was enjoyed by seventy local residents. Guests were welcomed with a glass of Pimms and were then led on a one and a half hour walking tour around the wilding project grounds.

Then it was back to the house for cream tea and cakes and a talk by the owner of The Old House, Joy. This year the talk featured the work being carried out in the grounds and the latest on the preservation of the house, in particular the issues around the 1604 fireplace project, which is now complete!

The 2025 event was the fourth of our “Walks on the Wild Side”. Some visitors have attended them all!
