Pyrford & Wisley Village Show

30th March 2022 by Geoff Geaves 2 Comments

No this isn’t a new event, but a rebranding of the Pyrford & Wisley Flower Show & Fete, which returns after an unfortunate two-year break.

This year it is celebrating its 75th year.  It will still be held at the same location –  the Pyrford Cricket Ground and on its usual date the 2nd Saturday in July – which this year is 9th July 2022.  Please put in your diary now.

The theme this year is “Celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee”.  The gates will open at 1pm, but the event will run with live music until 10pm.

Full details of all of the events will be available from the beginning of May, and so please revisit this website at https://www.pyrfordflowershow.org.uk/ or look for regular updates on our Facebook page.  Having been previously involved for some years, I know first-hand just how much hard work is done by a few key people, but if you would like to help them in any way to keep this event going, for example to set up, support the running of the show or tidy away, please contact the organisers via info@pyrfordflowershow.org.uk

Good afternoon, it is Thursday afternoon (before the show) and I live locally and I have just had to walk to the cricket pitch to turn the excessively loud music down that has been blaring out for over 2 hours now.
The speakers were by the pavilion entrance but no-one was inside, so I turned the volume right down as it was seemingly playing to an empty pitch!
Whilst I fully support the Flower Shower and as a youngster would enter the Art & Crafts section, then later by renting a pitch for a few years to sell my cards & prints, I really feel that more consideration should be given to those that live locally.
Can we please keep the loud annoying music until the actual event starts on Saturday?

      Martin,

Thank you for posting your comment.
I will pass it on to the Village Show Committee
