We have been given a recent update by Surrey County Council (SCC) on West Byfleet library.
SCC say they are “close to securing a temporary site for the duration of the redevelopment of the current library site. Firmer timescales will be published over the coming weeks, but SCC anticipate the move will take place towards the end of the summer”.
The temporary site “is only a short distance from the current site” and will “offer all the current library services, as well as some parking for library users”.
The current library will remain open for click and collect throughout the majority of the summer.
Conversations around the final position of a new library within the development are ongoing, but SCC are confident the library will be a core part of the final development.
