In 2017, the barn and about 30 acres of the surrounding land were purchased by the Whittle family and restored into the farmhouse curtilage and demesne. The barn has been repaired and refurbished. The land beyond the immediate garden plot is to be maintained as a sanctuary for wildlife – hungry members of which frequently neglect to remember they should remain outside said garden!
Regularly cycle past Wheelers Farm and they’ve done a fab job.
I used to visit the property in my teens when the Lacita family owned it.
Have just written quite a bit about this farm in a book “Our Hannah”. Website http://www.lewissinclairassociates.cymru
My relative Hannah Cullwick’s husband Arthur Munby (see Wikipedia) rented the farm off John Cole in 1878 and died there is 1910. Munby was a barrister and poet, and entertained many famous people at the farm. His wife Hannah was living mainly in Warwickshire and Shropshire during this 30+ year period and never came to Pyrford. It was a secret marriage and nobody in Pyrford knew Arthur Munby was married until his will was read.
